          Azizan Ahmad was formerly with the Standard Chartered Bank Group for 27 years holding various senior positions in the front line, middle office as well as Operations, the last being the Head of Wholesale Bank Operations of its Global Shared Service Centre in Kuala Lumpur. The setting up of this global centre is a key strategic initiative of the Standard Chartered Group and Azizan was a key member in the implementation project team. In his last role, he was responsible for and oversees the processing of wholesale banking transactions from 22 countries within the Standard Chartered Group, running a large division of 750 people who work on a 24-hour shift, 6 days a week.



          Throughout his career, Azizan has been involved in planning, implementation and sustenance of many strategic initiatives of the Standard Chartered Group and this, aside from running such a large operations for a leading international and well-established bank in the world, have provided him with the tools, skills and experience in strategic and tactical planning, change management, business re-engineering and management apart from the leadership capabilities and people skills that are critical in order to perform effectively in such a high-paced and very demanding organization. People development has always been something that Azizan is highly passionate about and this has seen him being heavily involved in the planning, structuring and execution of people strategies including training and development programmes in the Standard Chartered Group.
