DEVELOPING STRATEGIES AND GOALS

Brief Description


Some of the biggest challenges for someone in a leadership position, big or small, are to aspire, influence, lead and direct others to achieve the greater goals of the organization. The bigger the organization, the greater the challenge will be, given the diverse and sometimes “conflicting” roles of functions within the organization. The ability to develop effective strategies, goals and actions within each function as well as across functions therefore becomes one of the most important skills a leader must have.

Participants will:
• Understand how to structure and link aspirations, strategies and goals, internally at division level as well as link them to the larger organizational goals.
• Learn to develop effective strategies and goals using some practical tips and lessons learnt from other world-class organizations
• Formulate effective actions to achieve goals set
• Learn the skills of cascading strategies and goals at different levels of the organization to make them relevant and “owned”

Methodology/ Duration


Retreat-setting using a combination of a small dosage of lecture on tools and concepts with most time spent on discussion and brainstorming in break-out groups and overall team ending with an agreed way forward. Some outdoor activities are also typically included to cement the ties between team members for better integration and networking. Typical duration is 2 to 3 days.
